SEGA of America has announced plans to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog’s birthday with a special livestream taking place on June 23.
The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 12:30pm ET / 9:30am PT and will be streamed on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube and Twitch channels.
Hosting duties will be shared by community personalities Jacki Jing, GamesCage, and RogersBase, who will guide viewers through a programme dedicated to Sega’s iconic blue mascot.
According to SEGA, the livestream will feature a mix of special guests, gameplay showcases, activities, music, and additional surprises as part of the birthday celebrations. While the company has not revealed specific announcements or appearances ahead of time, it has described the event as a celebration for Sonic fans around the world.
The broadcast will also serve a charitable purpose. SEGA confirmed that the livestream will double as a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, allowing fans to support the organisation while taking part in the birthday festivities.
Sonic fans can tune in tomorrow via the official Sonic the Hedgehog social channels to join the celebration and see what SEGA has planned for the franchise’s latest birthday event.
