Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, according to new information shared by Dealabs leaker billbil-kun.

The report claims Sega is planning to release Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition for Switch 2 on June 23, 2026. The leaker also stated that the game will receive a physical release alongside its digital version.

At the moment, there is no confirmation regarding releases on additional platforms, though the report notes that information surrounding the project remains limited ahead of an official announcement.

According to the leak, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will reportedly launch at $49.99 in the United States. That pricing is lower than the current $59.99 standard edition price attached to the existing Nintendo Switch version of Sonic Frontiers.

The report speculates that the lower pricing could indicate a broader pricing adjustment for the game across multiple platforms in the future. Earlier this month, Sega permanently reduced the PC version’s price to $39.99 for the standard edition and $49.99 for the deluxe edition.

Details regarding the content included in the rumored Definitive Edition remain unknown. Sega has not officially announced the release at the time of writing.

Originally launched in November 2022, Sonic Frontiers marked a major shift for the franchise by introducing large-scale “Open Zone” environments across the Starfall Islands. The game blends high-speed platforming, exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat while Sonic attempts to rescue his friends and uncover the mysteries surrounding the islands.

The title is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
