Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Adds Majima Free DLC

by Greg Martin

SEGA has announced that Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will receive a new free content update featuring Goro Majima, with the update scheduled to go live on April 29 at 5:00 PM PT. The addition brings the fan favorite character into the game as a playable racer under the Captain Majima persona.

As part of the update, players will gain access to Majima as a character along with his themed vehicle, the Goromaru. The content drop also includes a set of themed emotes and audio elements, expanding the game’s customization options. The update will be available at no extra cost to all players who own either the Standard or Digital Deluxe editions, provided the game is updated to the latest version.

Following the update, SEGA will host a limited time in game event beginning April 30 at 5:00 PM PT and running through May 3 at 4:59 PM PT. During this period, players can earn festival points that can be exchanged for various rewards, including decals and gadgets.

The announcement also coincides with a promotional push on PC. Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will be playable for free during a Steam Free Weekend from April 30 at 10:00 AM PT through May 4 at 10:00 AM PT. In addition, the game is included in SEGA’s Steam Golden Week Sale, where it will be available at a 40 percent discount until May 7 at 10:00 AM PT.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is currently available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch systems. The game is priced starting at $69.99 on most platforms, while the Nintendo Switch version starts at $59.99. A Nintendo Switch 2 edition is also available at $69.99.
