Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order received its first gameplay footage at E3 2019 and today Respawn Entertainment has shared an extended version of the same gameplay demo.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be directed by Stig Asmussen. He previously worked at Sony Santa Monica Studios and released God of War 3, which was critically acclaimed. He is the game director for this new Star Wars game.
This extended gameplay demo is roughly 25 minutes long and while it starts to shift to the same gameplay demo near the end, the opening is different with a mix of the one seen during Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference and the other gameplay demo.
After sharing the demo, the game director Stig Asmussen also shared some details on it which weren’t revealed in the previous information blowout. He confirmed that the game is non-linear and they have taken inspiration from games like Metroid, Castlevania, and the Souls series for level design.
“The game will feature several planets that the player can elect to travel to via starship. On these worlds unique abilities and upgrades can be found that open up new paths across other planets, making retraversal an essential part of the gameplay experience, ” said Stig in an official blog post.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has now entered its final stage of development, which is for the game to reach a shippable stage, often referred in gaming development as going gold. It will be out on November 15, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
