Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Review Embargo Details Revealed
Details regarding the review embargo for EA and Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming action-adventure game, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, have been revealed.
According to Metacritic, the review embargo for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is expected to end mid-week, ahead of the game’s release on April 24, 2023. This would fall somewhere close to April 26, 2023, at 16:00 BST/8:00 PT depending on time zone differences. Fans can look forward to hearing what critics have to say about Cal Kestis’ latest adventure before grabbing their copies and assuming control of the young Jedi, as he takes on the Galactic Empire and attempts to thwart its relentless efforts to exterminate the last remaining survivors of Order 66.
Those who have pre-ordered a digital copy of the Xbox Series X|S version of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor can already pre-load the game. It has a download size of 140 GB on Xbox Series X and 44 GB on Xbox Series S. Additionally, the digital pre-load should come with the latest update pre-installed, although a day one update may be rolled out closer to the game’s launch on April 28, 2023.
Previously, it was reported that Star Wars: Jedi Survivor may require a mandatory download for physical copies. The Facebook page of New Zealand based online retailer Mighty Ape has shared images of physical copies of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, which suggests that will require a mandatory download in order to play the game.
The retailer has received its initial stock of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor physical copies, and it states on its Facebook page that they are ready to ship to customers by next week.
Console owners aren’t unfamiliar with the concept of downloading day one updates in the current landscape of game releases. However, having to download a significant chunk of an already massive sized game is a different ordeal altogether. At this point, some fans may opt to purchase a digital copy over the physical disc version.
