Streets of Rage 4 has a substantial day one update. The file size of the full game has been revealed along with patch notes for the update.
Publisher DotEmu and developer LizardCube have confirmed the release date of the game and it is finally arriving on April 30. This is a sequel that is launching after more than two decades. The first three Street of Rage games were released for the Sega Mega Drive so if we go by their original release date, this new sequel is coming after more than 25 years.
While the game is not out until April 30, there is a day one update available for it on the official PlayStation servers. The download size of this update is a little over 1 GB. Here are the Streets of Rage 4 update 1.01 patch notes which mention some minor improvements to gameplay and audio.
Meanwhile, since the confirmation of a release date today, the official Nintendo eShop has been updated with the final game size and other information. According to the eShop page for the game, the download size of the full package is around 3.1 GB and it should similar on the PS4. This likely doesn’t include any of the day one updates, but for a digital game, these updates are part of the initial download so it shouldn’t be a problem.
