Take-Two has taken legal action against modders who worked on the unofficial GTA V port for Nintendo Switch, according to a new report.
Twitter/X user videotech, who is known for covering topics related to Rockstar Games’ titles, has shared that Take-Two has taken legal action against Paralympics Production, the group of modders who ported GTA V to Nintendo Switch using leaked source code.
According to the Twitter/X user, Paralympics Production implied Take-Two were “merciful,” so the situation hasn’t led to an actual lawsuit. The publisher is known for being strict regarding matters pertaining to copyright infringement.
While GTA V skipped an official release for the Nintendo Switch, it remains to be seen whether its successor will eventually end up on the Switch 2. Back in June, 2026, Day One founder and podcast co-host Shpeshal_Nick took to Twitter/X to react to a claim from insider Nash Weedle, according to which GTA VI would arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 at some point. While his information wasn’t concrete, he mentioned hearing that the console maker was working with Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games to try and make a port happen.
Earlier in November, 2025, insider Nate the Hate claimed that Rockstar Games had been conducting tests to bring GTA VI to the Nintendo Switch 2. However, he cautioned that this doesn’t always translate into an actual release. “I know an effort has been made to see if they can bring it to the platform. I don’t know the current state of that effort,” he said. In a follow up post, he noted that publishers routinely test hardware without committing to full development. He explained, “Experimenting doesn’t equal ‘in development’ & companies often test to see if a game is possible on hardware.”
GTA V was officially released across PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
