Tales of Eternia Remastered Launches on Consoles and PC

by Greg Martin

Tales of Eternia Remastered is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The remastered release introduces new options for visuals and sound, alongside several quality-of-life improvements and additional difficulty settings. Players can switch between the remastered presentation and the original graphics and sound effects using the new Graphics Mode and SFX Mode.

Other improvements give players more control over their progression and battles. A Boost feature lets players adjust experience gains and encounter frequency, while destination icons can be toggled on or off. The game also includes a high-speed mode during Auto-mode mid-battle, Battle Retry, and Quick Recovery.

Tales of Eternia Remastered adds two difficulty options. Extreme difficulty is available from the beginning, while the new Unknown difficulty can be unlocked after completing the game.

The story follows Reid Hershel and his companions Farah, Keele, and Meredy, a mysterious girl who becomes part of their journey. Their adventure takes place across Inferia and Celestia, two interconnected worlds facing a catastrophic collision known as the Grand Fall.

To prevent the disaster from destroying both worlds, the group must seek the power of the Greater Craymels and harness the abilities of elemental spirits. Their journey brings them into contact with memorable characters while challenging them to confront their own struggles.

Originally released in 2006, Tales of Eternia is one of the earlier entries in the Tales role-playing game series. The remastered version retains its central story while introducing presentation options, combat adjustments, and other enhancements for its release on current platforms.
