Previously, dataminers on the Modding Haven Discord Server had allegedly discovered a list of 36 playable characters via the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test files. The list includes Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, King, Hwoarang, Ling Xiaoyu, Jin Kazama, Bryan Fury, Kazuya Mishima, Jack-8, Asuka Kazama, Lili, Lars Alexandersson, Claudio Serafino, Nina Williams, Leroy Smith, Jun Kazama, Yoshimitsu, Shaheen, Raven, Zafina, Steve, Alisa, Akira Kazama, Angel, Anna Williams, Bob, Feng Wei, Lee Chaolan, Lei Wulong, Leo Kliesen, Panda, Eliza, Heihachi Mishima, Julia Chang, Kuma, and Miguel Rojo.

Earlier, Tekken 8 Producer, Katsuhiro Harada, had shared that he doesn’t have any plans to bring guest characters in the initial roster, as it had happened with Akuma for Tekken 7. Akuma was later confirmed to be a key part of the story in the previous entry, and, therefore, wasn’t labeled as a guest character. Tekken 7 had many guest characters, including Noctics, Negan, and Geese. They went on to become some off the favorites of professional players. Tekken 8 may too eventually receive guest characters, but it’s likely to happen sometime after launch, as the development team is currently in the process of finalizing the main roster.

Tekken 8 is an upcoming fighting game co-developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Arika and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Serving as the eighth primary and tenth overall entry in the Tekken series, the game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
