The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake May Contain Hints Pointing To A Majora’s Mask Remake

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has just released, and fans are already finding subtle hints pointing to a Majora’s Mask remake.

Twitter/X user MightyGazelle1 has shared an interesting observation regarding the Happy Mask Salesman in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. In the original, the character never wore a gold bracelet, and it was only in the sequel, Majora’s Mask, that he was seen wearing one. In the new version, however, his redesigned character model is indeed wearing a gold bracelet, suggesting that some of the groundwork for a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask may already have been laid.

Furthermore, unlike in the original, the day and night cycle in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake works just like the one seen in Majora’s Mask, where time doesn’t stop, and players can view all NPCs following a set schedule instead of them simply teleporting away. While this might have been the case because Nintendo possibly preferred Majora’s Mask’s day and night cycle approach over that of the original Ocarina of Time, it does seem like a system that is intended to seamlessly carry over to the sequel’s remake.

Whether a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is in active development is anyone’s guess, though it does seem like a no-brainer given that the original titles shared much of their asset work. Therefore, t wouldn’t be surprising to see a Majora’s Mask remake see the light of day in a year or two.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was released on November 5, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. The game is reportedly experiencing issues when Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is enabled. Read about it here.
