The sales revenue of The Pokemon Company has reportedly increased by more than 4 times over the last 5 years.
According to financial information published by PR TIMES (via denfaminicogamer.jp and Genki_JPN on Twitter/X), The Pokemon Company recorded sales revenue of approximately 531.4 billion Yen (3.4 billion US Dollars) for the fiscal year ending February, 2026. These figures represent an increase from approximately 120 billion Yen (769 million US Dollars) in fiscal 2021, meaning the company’s revenue has grown by around 4.4 times during this period.
The latest figures also show that the company’s growth has accelerated in several key years. Revenue increased by 70.1% in fiscal 2022, while fiscal 2025 saw another substantial 38.1% increase. The latter period coincided with the October, 2024, launch of Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, the smartphone adaptation of the popular Pokemon Trading Card Game.
The company’s profitability has expanded even more dramatically. Net profit rose from approximately 8.8 billion Yen in fiscal 2018 to around 120.1 billion Yen in fiscal 2026, representing an increase of roughly 13.6 times over eight years. In fiscal 2022, net profit more than doubled to approximately 41.4 billion Yen, aided by the releases of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Fiscal 2026 was another particularly strong year. Net profit jumped 70.7% from approximately 70.3 billion Yen to 120.1 billion Yen. The period included the October, 2025, release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A and the February, 2026, opening of Pokemon Park Kanto, the franchise’s first permanent outdoor attraction.
The Pokemon Company was established in April 1998 as a joint venture between Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak. While Game Freak develops the mainline Pokemon video games and Creatures handles trading-card development and other production work, The Pokemon Company manages the franchise’s intellectual property, licensing, and overall brand strategy.
Earlier this year, upon receiving the Andrew Yoon Legend Award at the 15th annual New York Game Awards, The Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said that the series has the power to connect the world. According to him, this feeling becomes a major driving force for him as he thinks about how to produce the next game and make it even more enjoyable for everyone. Read about it here.
