Threads of Time Gameplay Deep Dive Showcases Needle

Riyo Games and Balor Games have released a new gameplay deep dive for Threads of Time, offering players a closer look at one of the upcoming RPG’s central features during the Day of the Devs showcase on June 5.

The newly released video focuses on the Needle, a time-traveling vessel that serves as the backbone of the game’s adventure. As players progress through the story, the ship will allow them to travel across different eras and explore a variety of distinct settings connected through time.

Inspired by classic Japanese role-playing games such as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, Threads of Time combines retro influences with a modern presentation. The game features a 2.5D pixel art visual style and follows a group of heroes drawn from different periods in history as they work together to stop a threat capable of disrupting the past, present, and future.

The gameplay showcase highlights how the Needle acts as a gateway between the game’s diverse environments. Players will journey from prehistoric landscapes populated by dinosaurs to advanced futuristic civilizations, with additional eras and locations waiting to be discovered throughout the adventure.

According to the developers, Threads of Time is designed to capture the appeal of classic JRPGs while incorporating modern design sensibilities. Exploration, party building, and time-travel mechanics form the core of the experience as players assemble a team of characters from across multiple ages.

While the latest footage provides a more detailed look at the Needle and the game’s world-hopping structure, Threads of Time continues to position itself as a nostalgic yet contemporary take on the genre, drawing inspiration from some of the most influential RPGs of the past while introducing its own time-spanning adventure.

Additional details on Threads of Time are expected to be shared as development continues.
