With Nintendo’s June 9 Direct presentation now officially confirmed, attention has shifted to what may appear during the broadcast. According to comments made by insider NateTheHate and YouTuber Modern Vintage Gamer (MVG), the showcase could feature a significant number of third-party announcements for Nintendo Switch 2.
During a recent podcast, Nate shared a mix of personal predictions and information he claims to have heard from industry contacts. Among the projects he believes are planned for Switch 2 is Atlus’ critically acclaimed RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio. Nate said he had heard as far back as January that the game is destined for Nintendo’s new platform and suggested a Direct announcement would be a logical next step.
Konami was another publisher heavily discussed during the conversation. Nate reiterated previous claims that Silent Hill 2 Remake and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater are both planned for Switch 2. He also stated that he had previously heard Konami intends to become a major partner for Nintendo’s latest system, leading him to expect multiple announcements from the publisher.
Capcom’s support for the platform was also highlighted. Nate said he expects Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Remake to arrive on Switch 2, potentially as part of a collection announcement. Devil May Cry 5 was also mentioned, with Nate pointing to earlier ratings-board activity that suggested a Switch 2 release could be on the way.
Square Enix could also have a presence at the event. Nate referenced ongoing rumors surrounding a complete Kingdom Hearts collection for Switch 2 and noted that the recent removal of the cloud versions from the Nintendo eShop has fueled speculation. He also expects Kingdom Hearts IV to eventually be confirmed for the platform.
Beyond specific ports, Nate referenced earlier information he had heard regarding Fire Emblem: Fortune Weave, which he said was targeting a summer release window. Based on that information, he believes the game could launch in August or early September and may receive a release date announcement during the Direct.
Other games that Nate and MVG strongly expect to see include Call of Duty on Switch 2, Oblivion Remastered, Doom: The Dark Ages, Onimusha, Madden NFL, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and additional support from publishers such as Sega, Bandai Namco, Electronic Arts, and Microsoft.
The pair also discussed a number of less certain possibilities, including Silent Hill f, Diablo IV, Sekiro, Armored Core VI, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Yakuza ports, Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, Death Stranding Director’s Cut, Persona 4 Revival, Persona 6, and a potential reveal of Nintendo’s next 3D Mario title.
While many of the titles mentioned remain speculative, the source-based claims highlighted by Nate centered primarily on Metaphor: ReFantazio, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami’s long-term Switch 2 support plans, Fire Emblem: Fortune Weave’s summer release target, and previous information suggesting a new 3D Mario game is not currently planned for release in 2026.
