Tom Holland and Zendaya have spoken about their appreciation for Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man series, revealing that the games have become a source of friendly competition between the pair.
During an interview with IGN Benelux, Holland praised the PlayStation-exclusive franchise, saying, “The games are absolutely sensational.”
Zendaya also shared her experiences playing the series, explaining that she prefers to tackle challenges on her own rather than accept assistance from Holland.
“I get very frustrated because I want to play all by myself and he’ll try to come just like, ‘Let me help you.’ And I’m like, ‘No! I need to do this on my own.’ You can’t help me,” she said.
The comments come as Holland and Zendaya continue promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next film in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man series. Both actors are set to reprise their roles as Peter Parker and MJ.
Developed by Insomniac Games, the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise has become one of PlayStation’s biggest successes, earning praise for its open-world recreation of New York City, fast-paced web-swinging mechanics, and story-driven approach to the iconic superhero. The series currently includes Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
While discussing the upcoming film, the pair’s comments offered another reminder that the Spider-Man franchise continues to connect audiences across both gaming and cinema.
