Valve has revealed pricing for its new Steam Machine lineup, with the entry-level model starting at $1,049 and notably not including a controller.
The base Steam Machine comes with 512GB of NVMe SSD storage and is powered by a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 processor paired with a semi-custom RDNA 3 graphics solution. The system also includes 16GB of DDR5 memory, 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Gigabit Ethernet, and SteamOS 3.
Players who want a controller included will need to purchase the Steam Machine 512GB with Controller bundle, which is priced at $1,128.
Valve is also offering a higher-end 2TB model for $1,349. A version bundled with a controller will cost $1,428. The 2TB editions include additional magnetic faceplates, featuring red fabric and solid walnut designs.
Across all models, the hardware specifications remain largely the same outside of storage capacity. Each system features an integrated Steam Controller wireless adapter and a compact form factor measuring roughly six inches on each side.
Valve recently unveiled the 2026 Steam Machine as its return to the living room gaming market. Designed around a custom AMD chipset and SteamOS, the device aims to deliver high-end PC gaming in a console-style package while competing with current-generation gaming hardware.
The pricing places the Steam Machine firmly in the premium segment, with even the entry-level configuration costing significantly more than traditional gaming consoles.
