Amazon has outlined an updated publishing roadmap for the Tomb Raider franchise, indicating that Tomb Raider: Atlantis is now scheduled to launch on 12 February 2027, with another Tomb Raider title planned for 2028.
The release window was revealed by Amazon games boss Jeffrey Gattis during an interview with The Game Business. While Gattis did not explicitly state that the next Tomb Raider game had been delayed, the updated roadmap places the second announced Tomb Raider project in 2028 after Tomb Raider: Atlantis arrives in February 2027.
Gattis said Amazon remains committed to publishing the series and sees Tomb Raider as one of the flagship franchises that will help shape the future of Luna alongside other major intellectual properties.
Much of the interview focused on Amazon’s broader gaming strategy following the integration of Luna into the Prime Video app. According to Gattis, the move is intended to improve discoverability by allowing Prime members in the US and UK to launch cloud games directly through Prime Video without downloading a separate application.
Gattis also said Amazon has consolidated its previously separate gaming divisions into a unified organisation and is focusing on mainstream, narrative-driven games built around well-known franchises. He cited Tomb Raider, Hogwarts Legacy and Indiana Jones as examples of the type of experiences that best fit Luna’s audience.
Discussing development, Gattis confirmed that Crystal Dynamics is leading work on the Tomb Raider games in collaboration with Amazon. He added that the company is continuing to evaluate additional AAA projects while aiming to establish Luna as a platform associated with major franchises including Tomb Raider and James Bond.
