KOEI TECMO America and Team NINJA have officially announced Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the long-awaited sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
The reveal confirms that the dark fantasy action RPG is currently in development and is scheduled to launch in early 2027. The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Team NINJA also confirmed that the title will support Xbox Play Anywhere and launch through Xbox Game Pass.
According to the announcement, Wo Long 2 will build upon the foundation established by its predecessor while introducing evolved Chinese martial arts combat set against the backdrop of the Three Kingdoms era.
The developer stated that players will need to “master the evolved Chinese martial arts and conquer battlefields of the Three Kingdoms overrun by monstrous demons alongside renowned heroes who left their mark on history.”
The sequel follows the success of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which Team NINJA says has surpassed 5 million players worldwide since its launch. While detailed gameplay information has not yet been revealed, the announcement suggests that the series will continue blending historical events and figures from ancient China with supernatural threats and dark fantasy elements.
The original Wo Long established itself through its fast-paced combat system centered around precise deflections and morale-based progression mechanics. Players fought through a reimagined version of the Later Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period, battling both legendary warriors and terrifying demonic creatures inspired by Chinese mythology.
