Blizzard has announced World of Warcraft Forever, a new permanent version of the MMORPG focused on a reimagined version of the original Azeroth. World of Warcraft Forever will launch on November 4, 2026, with its beta beginning September 17, giving players a new way to experience the game’s original continents alongside modern and Classic WoW.
World of Warcraft Forever is set after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before the events of Molten Core. Players will return to the original continents, progress to level 60 and experience new stories, systems and updates built around Blizzard’s plans to continue expanding this version of Azeroth.
The new experience is intended to put greater emphasis on the world and community, while maintaining the familiar setting of early World of Warcraft. Blizzard says player feedback accumulated over the years has helped shape its approach to Forever, with the journey itself being a central part of the experience.
A beta deep dive is scheduled for September 13 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, when the development team will provide more information about the game’s systems, design decisions and approach to its reimagined Azeroth.
Several optional upgrade packages are available for preorder through the Battle.net Shop.
World of Warcraft Forever editions:
- Skyborne Heroic Pack: Skyborne race, Zephras Isle starting experience, early name reservation, mount, cosmetics, housing items and one launch code
- Skyborne Epic Pack: Heroic Pack contents, September 17 beta access, 30 days of game time, additional cosmetics and three launch codes
- Warcraft Forever Collection: Epic Pack contents, Warcraft III Reforged, Forsaken Kingdom campaign and additional housing decorations
Access to World of Warcraft Forever itself will be included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time when it launches. Blizzard is also offering a physical Collector’s Edition through the Blizzard Gear Store while supplies last.
Alongside the Forever announcement, Blizzard revealed Midnight: Eclipse, the next major content update for World of Warcraft: Midnight. The update will bring players into the worldcore to confront Xal’atath as she moves closer to achieving her goal involving Azeroth’s Worldsoul. The events will lead toward The Last Titan, the final chapter of the Worldsoul Saga.
Warcraft III Reforged also received a new campaign with Forsaken Kingdom, which is now available. The campaign follows the fall of Lordaeron and the rise of the Forsaken, bridging the events of Warcraft III with the early history of World of Warcraft.
