Xbox is reportedly working on a new support process aimed at helping players who were unfairly banned regain access to their accounts without relying on Microsoft’s standard support channels.
The information comes from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who discussed the issue during the XB2 podcast. According to Corden, Microsoft is currently working through a backlog of users whose accounts were banned unfairly and has already begun restoring access to affected players.
Corden said he has personally been helping connect users with Xbox, claiming that “I got like dozens of people’s accounts unbanned over the last couple of weeks. So, trying to work with Xbox, you know, to connect people to Xbox and stuff because Microsoft’s working through like a backlog now of people who’ve been banned unfairly and they’re getting their accounts unbanned now.”
He also suggested the issue stemmed more from Microsoft’s broader account policies than Xbox itself, adding, “And apparently like it was less Microsoft Xbox and more Microsoft account teams policies, but they’re working on a new support flow for people who have been impacted that way, so they don’t have to go through Microsoft support teams to get some of that fixed.”
