Xbox Has A Lot To Show That Couldn’t Fit In June Showcase, Could Be Revealed At Gamescom 2024

Xbox allegedly has a lot more games to show that it couldn’t fit in June’s Showcase, and they are likely to be revealed at Gamescom 2024.

Content creator Parris Lilly took to gaming enthusiast forum Reset Era to share that Xbox has more games in store for fans that it is likely to reveal at Gamescom 2024. He mentioned that he had multiple people at Xbox tell him there was so much more they could have shown at the recent Showcase, but couldn’t due to time constraints. He added that this year’s Gamescom is shaping up to be a major event for Xbox.

The Xbox Two podcast co-host Jez Corden had similar information to share on Twitter/X. He mentioned that the titles that were shown during the June Showcase are only part of what’s coming. It’s likely that some of these upcoming announcements and reveals will be saved for Tokyo Game Show 2024, as the company also has been collaborating on some Japanese projects.

Upcoming announcements may not be limited to games, however. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer showed great interest in the possibility of an Xbox handheld gaming device during a recent interview. He said that the future for Xbox in hardware is “pretty awesome”, and the work that the team is doing around different form factors and different ways to play is something that he’s excited about. According to him, there will be a different time to talk more on this subject. “We can’t wait to bring it to you guys”, he said.

Spencer was asked whether a hypothetical Xbox gaming handheld PC device would be a dedicated piece of hardware that can be played offline like the Steam Deck or something that would need a Wi-Fi connection to stream games from. In response, Spencer stated that he’s very fond of his Rog Ally, his Lenovo Legion Go, and his Steam Deck, and he believes that local gaming for a hypothetical Xbox handheld is really important.
