Amazon Japan Lists 007 First Light Switch 2 Release Date

by Ali Haider

Amazon Japan has listed September 16, 2026 as the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light, potentially revealing when the game will arrive on Nintendo’s latest console.

At the time of writing, IO Interactive has not officially confirmed the date, so the retailer listing should be treated as unconfirmed until the developer makes an announcement.

007 First Light launched on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Developed and published by IO Interactive, the single-player action-adventure serves as an original origin story for a young James Bond as he earns his 00 status.

Powered by the studio’s Glacier engine, the game combines stealth, espionage, tactical gunplay and sandbox-style mission design across a range of international locations. Its gameplay draws inspiration from IO Interactive’s Hitman series while introducing a new interpretation of the iconic secret agent.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version was previously confirmed for a later release than the other platforms, with IO Interactive stating that the additional development time would allow the team to optimise the game for Nintendo’s hardware.

If the Amazon Japan listing proves accurate, Switch 2 owners will be able to play 007 First Light beginning on September 16. Until IO Interactive confirms the date, however, the retailer listing should be regarded as a placeholder or an early reveal rather than official confirmation.
