Crash Team Racing Nitro Re-Fueled Adventure Mode Explained

Crash Team Racing Nitro Re-Fueled will get an adventure mode that is based on the original game’s story mode. Here’s what is included as part of this single-player campaign mode.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Re-Fueled is a remake of the first Crash Team Racing game that was released for the PS1. It is being developed by Beenox for the current generation consoles. In addition to offering all of the features from Crash Team Racing, the developers are taking it one step further and included tracks from the sequels as well.

The adventure mode in Crash Team Racing was quite unique and considered as one of the best of its time. It has been fully remade in CTR Nitro Re-Fueled. While the developers kept as much of the original vision as possible, they also expanded it with the rewards that will be now given to the players.

In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, they have explained some of the new additions to the Adventure mode. One set of rewards is ” new kart parts, character skins, or kart customization items.”

Players will immediately unlock any boss as a playable character after beating them. Previously, they were required to beat theme in Gem Cups. If you want to challenge the Gem Cups, they offer additional rewards instead of unlocking the boss.

The developers also shared a lengthy gameplay walkthrough showing the adventure mode. If you want to see how well the remake manages to stick to the original vision, this video should give a good idea of it.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Re-Fueled is out on June 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is the second Crash Bandicoot Remake from Activision after Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
