Deathloop Won’t Release On “Other Consoles” Until September 14, 2022

Sony has recently shared a new trailer for Deathloop. The YouTube version of this trailer has confirmed the timed exclusivity period for the game.

In the State of Play gameplay trailer, we get a small blurb at the end of the video that states that the game is timed exclusive to PS5 and will also release on PC. It then mentions September 14, 2022, as a tentative date where it can be possibly released on other consoles.

PlayStation is not new to having these messages hidden in their console exclusive games. They had a similar one for Forspoken and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo are two games that have been confirmed to be timed PS5 console exclusives. While Ghostwire Tokyo still doesn’t have a release date, Deathloop will be out on September 14, 2022. After the Bethesda acquisition by Microsoft, there is a good chance that these games will also debut on game pass once their timed exclusivity expires, and possible with additional content.

As it stands though, if you are interested in playing Deathloop, your only choice is to get it on PS5 or grab the PC version. If you own Xbox, then you will have to wait a full year before the game can be released, as is the nature of such timed-exclusive deals.
