DualSense Controller Will Require Software Updates On PS5

by Ali Haider

Sony has updated the accessories page for the PS5. We also learn that there will be software updates for the DualSense Controller.

DualSense is the controller for PS5 that was recently shown during a live stream by Geoff Keighley. This controller will offer features like Haptic Feedback, Adaptive Triggers, Built-in Microphone, and a dedicated Create button for the PS5. All of the major games that are coming to PS5 will use these features which is why there is a lack of backward compatibility for the PS4 controller when it comes to the PS5 games.

In addition to sharing a 360-degree view of the DualSense controller, a small blurb at the end of the official page confirmed that DualSense will require software updates. This is usually the case for Nintendo Switch and even the Xbox One controllers but Sony hasn’t done a similar software update for the PS3 or PS4 controllers.

At the end of the page, a small blurb confirms that in addition to software updates for the PS5, users will also have to update their DualSense controller. “Always update your PS5 system software and the wireless controller device software to the latest version.”
