Gotham Knights has been delayed by Warner Bros. Montreal in order to deliver the best possible experience according to the developers.

In a statement shared on their official Twitter account, the developers confirmed that the game has been delayed to 2022. This marks the second high-profile delay from Warner Bros. Interactive after Hogwarts Legacy, which was also delayed to 2022.

“We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players. Thank you to our amazing fans for your tremendous support of Gotham Knights. We look forward to showcasing more of the game in the coming months, ” reads the statement.

Gotham Knights will be a successor to Batman Arkham Knight. The game will feature Robin, Nightwing, Batwoman, and Redhood. In this version of Batman Arkham sequel, there is no playable Batman.

This game has been heavily rumored for a while now. It originally started as a story based on the popular Court of Owls arc in the Batman series. Once it was revealed by Warner Bros. Montreal, this was confirmed along with the news of the game launching in 2021.

Warner Bros. Montreal has previously worked on Batman Arkham Origins. While they are now making another Batman game, Rocksteady Studios, who previously helmed a new Batman game, are working on their own DC project with Suicide Squad.
