GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Mature Content Detailed by PEGI

GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is said to remove some of the game’s controversial elements. All three games have now been rated by PEGI.

In their rating, PEGI has outlined some of the mature content in the game. Those who have played them might find that most of the violent and sexual content is there. While reports are suggesting that some of the changes will relate to the sensitive content in the game, but so far nothing has been confirmed officially by Rockstar.

GTA III – The Definitive Edition

Content-specific issues

This game features frequent strong violence, including the ability to attack and kill innocent, vulnerable and defenceless characters using vehicles and a wide variety of weapons. There is sight of blood when characters are attacked.

There is also use of strong language (‘fuck’).

Secondary issues/information

There are references to sexual activity, including prostitution.

GTA Vice City – The Definitive Edition

Content-specific issues

This game features frequent strong violence, including the ability to attack and kill innocent, vulnerable and defenceless characters, using vehicles and a wide variety of weapons. There is sight of blood when characters are attacked and characters can be decapitated by gun shots.

There is also use of strong language (‘fuck’).

Secondary issues/information

There are references to sexual activity, including the production of pornography. It is possible for the player’s character to engage in sexual activity with prostitutes, although this is only implied (for example, through sight of the exterior of a vehicle shaking).

There are references to drug dealing and sight of illegal drug use.

GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition

Content-specific issues

This game features frequent strong violence, including the ability to attack and kill innocent, vulnerable and defenceless characters, using vehicles and a wide variety of weapons. Stealth attacks can be used, which involve coming up behind other characters and slitting their throats.

There is sight of blood spurts when characters are attacked. Some of the violence is graphic and can result in dismemberment or mutilation, such as attacking people with a chainsaw, running them over with a combine harvester, or setting fire to people with Molotov cocktails. It is also possible to shoot off characters’ heads using an assault rifle.

There is also use of strong language (‘cunt’, ‘fuck’, ‘motherfucker’), as well as discriminatory terms.

It is possible to enter casinos and gamble.

Secondary issues/information

The game also features scenes of sexual activity, including sight of dancers in strip clubs and the ability to engage in sex with prostitutes. There is no sight of genitals.

There is also sight of illegal drug use.

GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is confirmed to launch on November 9, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A mobile version will also arrive sometime later in 2022.
