Anthem Open Beta is about to end. The game was playable for everyone who wanted to give it a chance before the launch on February 22, and today something strange has started to appear in the sky.

Anthem open beta players are posting images of what appears to be a rift or portal in the sky. It is currently available to view in the game and can be seen clearly.

Bioware devs have now confirmed that this is the live service that they have planned for Anthem. It is just a hint of what’s to come when the full game launches later this February.

Anthem players are speculating that these portals might be the gateway to powerful creatures and new types of wildlife. They can lead to different challenging combat encounters and new missions added with every update to the live service.

Anthem is an open world third person shooter with a strong focus on online multiplayer. It is different from traditional Bioware games in the past when they used to work on single player campaigns. Most fans also call it a Destiny clone due to the way it relies on loot, group matches, and open world traversal. Anthem does offer in-game matchmaking for every gameplay mode and there is a central hub where players can stop and perform upgrades or gather resources.

If you have enjoyed the VIP demo followed by the Open Beta, you can get early access to the game on February 15 through EA or Origin Access for Xbox One or PC. The full game will launch for all platforms on February 22.
