No Man’s Sky Update 2.04 Released to Fix Game Crashing Bugs

No Man’s Sky update 2.04 is available now with a tiny download size. This hotfix was out on PC and will also launch for Xbox One. It will resolve game crashing bugs.

No Man’s Sky has received its largest update yet with Beyond patch. This has led to an increase in crashes for users and a new hotfix is out now to fix them. This was available as a part of the experimental branch of updates on PC and it is out now for everyone.

No Man’s Sky Beyond update was released yesterday for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It adds support for 16 to 32 players multiplayer, virtual reality on PS4 and PC, and implements many gameplay improvements for the game.

After the update was released, players started to complain about major game crashes that were mostly occurring on PS4 and Xbox One, but they were also reported for PC. Hello Games had taken notice of these crashes and assured that a fix is on the way.

They first released an experimental version of the update on PC quickly followed by another update that was released on PS4. The update is also being planned for the Xbox One so it should be deployed later today on it.

Update to Experimental Branch 15/08
  • Fix for crashes occurring in Nexus.
Experimental Branch 14/08
  • Fixed a rendering related crash.
  • Fixed an out of memory crash.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when manipulating inventory in close proximity to a high number of players.
  • Fixed a crash affecting VR with supersampling enabled.
  • Fixed a situation where network connectivity issues could prevent players from speaking to NPCs aboard the Space Anomaly.
  • Fixed an issue where storage containers could not be accessed.
  • Fixed a crash affecting unsupported VR hardware.

Hello Games has shown commitment to No Man’s Sky and launched two massive updates for it post-launch that has added tons of new content. They first released the game as a timed console exclusive for PS4 along with PC and then later ported it to Xbox One last year with a major Next update.
