Sony is starting to send out beta codes for a brand new PS4 firmware update 7.00, which should launch in the coming days. Here’s what is new in this upcoming firmware update.

PS4 users had to download quite a few stability updates with the last firmware that was released on PS4. It appears that Sony is now ready to make the jump to new system software that comes packed in with new features. Those who have previously participated in the beta firmware program should get a code in the email that might include the new firmware for beta testing purpose.

As shared by a user on ResetERA, the email also reveals some of the features that are being added with the upcoming PS4 firmware update.

Be one of the first players to try out the new PS4™ Party update, as part of the PlayStation® Beta experience. Play, chat and connect with even more friends online, as we’re boosting Party sessions from eight to 16 players – this brand-new feature is due to release in System Software Update 7.00.

The highlight of this update appears to be the ability to boost the party chat sessions from eight to 16 players. There is also a warning that states that if the player chooses to participate in this beta test, they won’t be able to join other parties or share play with any user who is not in the same beta test.

Another neat improvement that was discovered by a user on reddit seems to suggest that Sony will now allow fans to tweak the HDR for PS4 Pro on their own console. They will be able to adjust the brightness and other HDR settings through the system OS.
