PS4 Firmware Update 6.72 Is Out Now, Download Size and Details
PS4 firmware update 6.72 was released today by Sony. Here are the details for this new firmware update including its download size and changelog.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a brand new PS4 firmware update today updating the system software from its previous version 6.71 to the new 6.72. This is a minor incremental update seen from the version number.

The download size of this update roughly 440 MB for the regular update file and 995 MB for the recovery PS4 firmware update.
Sony has the habit of releasing these incremental updates before releasing a major system software. They have yet to announce any major update in the near future for the PS4. Thye also usually hold a beta test before releasing the new firmware which hasn’t been the case so far.

Sony is already working on the next-generation of consoles and has shared the details on what they are planning to do with the PlayStation family. While they haven’t officially disclosed what they plan to call the next PlayStation, they are going to release it at some point after Q1 2020. It will also be backward compatible with PS4 so any user who purchases the next PlayStation can carry their games library to the PS5.
