Nintendo had recently held a Nintendo Direct Mini that showcased two major announcements. One of them was a remaster of Shin Megami Tensei III.

Shin Megami Tensei III is getting an HD remaster for the Nintendo Switch. This is in addition to Shin Megami Tensei V, which is a brand new game that is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

Here are the details on both of these announcements courtesy of Nintendo.

  • Shin Megami Tensei V: The next numbered entry in ATLUS’ Shin Megami Tensei series is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch. In this epic role-playing game, order itself has crumbled and chaos reigns over all. Shin Megami Tensei V will have a simultaneous global launch on Nintendo Switch in 2021.
  • Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster: It’s been 17 years since the original release of Shin Megami Tensei III, known in Europe as Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call. Now, the apocalyptic legend returns in a full high-definition remake of the classic game, coming to Nintendo Switch in spring 2021.

Both of these games will be developed by Atlus. They are known for their work on the Persona series which is a spin-off based on the Shin Megami Tensei series. While the Megami Tensei series is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, the mainline Persona games are exclusive to PlayStation for now until the recently released Persona 4 Golden for PC changed it.
