Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Opens To Record Setting Opening In UK
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has opened to a record-breaking launch in the UK. It is ahead of the sales for its predecessor on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the next mainline entry in the popular Super Smash Bros. and it has managed to shatter the opening day sales of Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U. It is also the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game ahead of the recently released Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s go Eevee.
UK sales tracker GFK has shared the debut week sales of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it is ahead of every other game in the UK marketplace. The sales of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are also 302% ahead of the Nintendo Wii U version, and 233% higher than the Nintendo 3DS version.
Just Cause 4 was another new game release this week but it hasn’t fared that well. Sales for Just Cause 4 were down almost 62% compared to Just Cause 3, so it is not a good result at all. Maybe the game will have better legs due to good word of mouth, but it is too early to tell for now.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch. Unlike Just Cause 4, it is exclusive to the platform while Just Cause 4 launched on the PS4 and Xbox One.
