The Last of Us Part 2 fans have discovered a neat easter egg unlocked by beating the game on the new Grounded difficulty and Permadeath.

Naughty Dog had recently released an update for The Last of Us Part 2 that added support for Grounded difficulty. It also added a toggle for Permadeath. There are two additional trophies added to the game after the update. One is unlocked by beating the Grounded difficulty while the second is unlocked by beating it with Permadeath enabled.

As shared by a Twitter user, if a player manages to beat the game on the Grounded difficulty, they are able to hear Future Days song which is sung by Joel during the ending credits. In the normal difficulty, the song that plays at the end is Wayfaring Stranger.

Additionally, another user confirmed that the song changes with the difficultly. After the user completed it on Permadeath, he was able to hear Through the Valley play as part of the ending credits. Naughty Dog hasn’t shared any such change in the patch notes so it is nice to see it confirmed from a user.

Future Days is the song that Joel sings to Ellie in the prologue of the game. He doesn’t get to complete the song, however, if someone can beat the game on the Grounded difficulty, they can hear the complete song from Joel in the ending credit.

The Last of Us Part 2 is available now exclusively for the PS4.
