Zombie Army 4: Dead War has been updated for the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Here’s a comparison that highlights the difference for both platforms.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is available for PS Plus subscribers this month, in addition to the Xbox Game Pass subscription. It is the perfect time to test the game on these platforms if you have the current-generation consoles since the developers have released a free update to add support for better hardware.
To get a summary out of the way, there is a minor difference between the two consoles with Xbox Series X getting 120 FPS mode that renders at native 1080p. Aside from that, the two consoles are near-identical in terms of offering features, but how well do they stack next to each other?
The video above highlights the minor difference that still exists between the platforms despite the similar level of features. While Xbox Series X has 120 FPS support, it renders at 1080p resolution during this mode, while there is another gameplay mode that supports dynamic 4K resolution at 60 FPS on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
PS5 has slightly higher quality shadows but the performance lags behind the Xbox Series X. The resolution also holds up better on the Series X which gets an additional 120 FPS mode if you have a display capable to run it.
Aside from this minor difference, the loading times are also reportedly slower on the PS5 but this is likely due to the fact that the game is running in the backward compatibility mode and not a native PS5 version, which usually leads to faster load times.
