Here’s A Much Better Look At Will Smith’s Genie In Disney’s Aladdin
As Disney released the debut trailer for their Aladdin live-action movie, a lot of chatter around it surrounds the iconic look of Will Smith’s Genie. It turns out that he is not that bad looking at all.
While the official trailer only shows a brief glimpse of Genie, there is a still from the movie making its rounds online that shows a much better look Will Smith’s Genie.
This is not a still from the trailer but honestly, it looks so much better than the blue-painted look that the trailer had shown for Will Smith in Aladdin. It gives us hope that with the use of CGI, Genie might not look that bad. Perhaps it is time for Disney to make changes and improve the appearance of Genie. He will also take human form so you won’t always have to see in this terrible look.
When the first trailer was released, Will Smith confirmed that his Genie won’t be shown in human form but will offer a CGI look resembling his iconic appearance in the original animated movie. The new image does show a similar vibe so perhaps there is some hope left. Jasmine, on the other hand, might look different now due to the costume but her appearance seems to be a perfect match for the movie itself.
Disney’s Aladdin will hit theatres on May 24, 2019. It is being directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Nasim Pedrad, and Marwan Kenzari.
