Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night devs have shared an update on the status of the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch version.
Bloodstained is a Castlevania successor developed by Koji Igarashi, the former producer of the Castlevania series. It was released on June 18 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. One of the main complaints against the Nintendo Switch port was that it was unoptimized and had terrible load times compared to the other platforms.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night developer ArtPlay has now shared an update on their Kickstarter page confirming changes that they are planning to implement in the future. First up, they have announced a new Bloodstained update 1.04 for PS4 and 1.006 for Xbox One.
PS4 patch will implement a balance update seen here, save data and treasure chest fix, and some localization improvements. Xbox One will get Overlord achievement fix, HDR Fix, Localization improvements, and XB1-specific bug fixes in addition to the balance update. The PC version is also expected to get the same balance update.
Nintendo Switch owners meanwhile are going to enjoy a much better update in the future because the developer is now prioritizing the platform and has allocated “additional resources from WayForward as well as assistance from the Epic/Unreal team.”
The bigger performance update will take some time to come out but in the meanwhile, Nintendo Switch owners can enjoy a balance update and some bug fixes.
In addition to sharing this development update, a release date for the Japanese version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was also announced. The game will launch on October 24, 2019, in Japan. It will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
