A new update has been released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Update 1.006 focuses on multiplayer improvements, lower input latency, Zombies matchmaking enhancements, and a handful of quality-of-life changes.
The patch also introduces a new option to control the visibility of custom player emblems and fixes smoke grenade visual effects. In addition, the development team is investigating reports of some accounts displaying incorrect Prestige levels.
Patch Notes
Matchmaking
- Improved mid-match lobby backfilling in multiplayer.
- Zombies matches now prioritize PlayStation 5 hosts and no longer fall back to PlayStation 4 hosts.
Performance
- Reduced input delay for displays running at 120 Hz or higher.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed smoke grenade visual effects.
Quality of Life
- Added a toggle in the Multiplayer Options menu to show or hide other players’ custom emblems.
- Custom emblems remain visible by default.
Known Issue
- The team is investigating instances where some player accounts have been assigned incorrect Prestige levels.
Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II are available as digital ports on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Update 1.006 is available now.
