Capcom Details Dragon’s Dogma II Updates, Dark Arisen Expansion for October

by Salal Awan

Capcom has revealed new details on the future of Dragon’s Dogma II, outlining two major title updates arriving ahead of the launch of Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen, a substantial expansion set to release on October 9, 2026.

The first update, Title Update 3.1, arrives on June 10 and focuses on quality-of-life improvements. Players can expect changes to fast travel and movement systems, new and adjusted gameplay options, user interface enhancements, and pawn-related refinements. The update also includes reward adjustments, text and shop improvements, bug fixes, and other changes.

A second update, Title Update 3.2, is scheduled for the end of August. Built around game engine updates and system-level improvements, it will introduce performance enhancements, save system upgrades, Dragonsplague adjustments, and action refinements. Additional improvements will target pawns, enemy behavior, the user interface, and overall game stability. Capcom also confirmed that this update will bring improved frame rates, additional save slots, and further quality-of-life enhancements introduced in the June update.

Launching alongside these improvements is Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen, which expands the fantasy RPG with a new storyline, locations, challenges, and customization options. The expansion will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam for $49.99. Existing owners of the base game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will also be able to purchase the expansion separately as DLC for $29.99.

The expansion takes players to the abandoned northern region of Norgan, where the Arisen joins forces with the mysterious Eir to uncover the secrets surrounding the immortal Fallen Dragon. During the adventure, players will discover forgotten relics that can be appraised to unlock powerful weapons and new abilities.

Dark Arisen also introduces 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges. These newly discovered dungeons feature trials created by the Pathfinder, offering players the chance to earn rare equipment once used by previous Arisen. Character customization is being expanded as well, with new hairstyles and tattoos added to the game’s creator tools.

With two major updates arriving before launch and a sizeable expansion on the horizon, Capcom is preparing a significant new chapter for Dragon’s Dogma II later this year.
