Square Enix has officially discontinued sales of the Kingdom Hearts cloud-based releases on Nintendo Switch, with all affected titles being removed from sale as of June 9, 2026. Despite the delisting, existing owners will continue to have access to the games until June 9, 2027.
The affected titles include Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX Cloud Version, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) Cloud Version, and Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud. According to Square Enix, service for all four releases will officially end at 14:59 UTC on June 9, 2027.
Alongside the announcement, Square Enix confirmed that digital versions of the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Nintendo Switch 2, as well as the Nintendo Switch version of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, became available for pre-order on June 9. Players who own any of the cloud editions will be eligible to purchase the corresponding Nintendo Switch 2 digital version at a discounted price through the Nintendo eShop.
The company also confirmed that save data can be transferred from the cloud releases to the new Nintendo Switch 2 versions. Owners of Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud will qualify for discounts across all eligible digital releases, while owners of individual cloud titles will receive discounts only on the matching digital version. Square Enix noted that the physical edition of Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] is not included in the discount program.
Square Enix apologized for what it described as a sudden announcement and encouraged players to continue enjoying the cloud versions before service concludes next year. The move marks the end of the Kingdom Hearts cloud experiment on Nintendo Switch as the series transitions to native releases on Nintendo Switch 2.
