Kepler Interactive and Sandfall Interactive’s 2025 role-playing game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has now become the second title to win Game of the Year at all five major awards shows.

With its recent big win at BAFTA Game Awards 2026, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has succeeded in winning Game of the Year at all five major awards shows (via Reset Era member Angie). This includes Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards, DICE Awards, Game Developers Choice Awards, and now BAFTA Games Awards. This is undoubtedly a huge accolade for the development team at Sandfall Interactive, as its 2025 role-playing game is only the second title in history to achieve this feat.

For those wondering, the only other game to have won Game of the Year at all five major awards shows is Larian Studios’ role-playing game, Baldur’s Gate 3. Interestingly, both are role-playing games that feature turn-based combat.

According to this year’s video game awards tracking thread on the Reset Era forums, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has secured a current total of 513 Game of the Year awards, putting it ahead of Elden Ring (435) as the most awarded winner ever. Both games are followed by The Last of Us Part II (326), Baldur’s Gate III (288), The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (281), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (264), God of War (2018) (263), The Last of Us (257), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (229), Astro Bot (196), Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (190), Red Dead Redemption 2 (178), Grand Theft Auto V (163), Dragon Age: Inquisition (139), Death Stranding (118), God of War Ragnarök (118), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (115), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (114), Overwatch (114), Red Dead Redemption (111). It’s worth taking into account that recent years tend to have far more Game of the Year outlets than earlier ones. For example, 2020 saw a total of 648 awards, while 2023 and 2024 both exceeded 500.

While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 didn’t end up winning our Game of the Year 2025 award, its  eye-catching art direction, emotionally resonant narrative, and inventive spin on turn-based combat earned it the second spot.
