Control Resonant has officially gone gold ahead of its planned September 24 release, Remedy Entertainment has confirmed. However, players planning to purchase the physical edition will have to wait longer, with its release now scheduled for October 15.
Remedy announced the milestone on social media, confirming that development has reached the point where the September launch can proceed. The studio explained that the physical version requires additional time before it can be delivered to players.
“CONTROL Resonant has gone gold! Get ready to unleash Dylan Faden’s paranatural abilities in warped Manhattan on September 24th,” Remedy said. “The physical release date for the game has moved to October 15th. We need just a little more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured – nothing stays contained forever.”
The digital release therefore remains scheduled for September 24, while the physical edition will arrive several weeks later.
Control Resonant is a sequel to Remedy’s 2019 supernatural action game Control and shifts the focus to Dylan Faden. The story follows Dylan as he leaves the Federal Bureau of Control and enters a dimensionally distorted version of New York City.
Unlike the original game’s third-person shooting-focused combat, Resonant places greater emphasis on melee combat and features a shapeshifting weapon known as the Aberrant. The sequel also uses a more open-ended structure, with large areas containing side activities and hidden encounters.
Control Resonant is scheduled to launch on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows and macOS. The physical version will follow on October 15.
