New Story & Gameplay Details Regarding Control Spin-off Condor Have Been Revealed
Brand new details regarding the story and gameplay in Remedy Entertainment’s Control spin-off, Condor, have been revealed.
In its annual report for the year 2023, Remedy Entertainment has shared new details regarding the story and gameplay featured in its upcoming Control spin-off, Condor. It is a co-op multiplayer game that takes place in the Oldest House after the Hiss invasion.
Condor Story Premise Detailed
Codor is set in the Oldest House, after the Hiss invasion turns it into a place of volatile and dangerous supernatural forces. As such, the building has been put under lockdown. Trapped insider is the last remaining task force of the Federal Bureau of Control, who will
need to take a stand and push back to regain control. There’s no mention of whether the plot will overlap with Jesse Faden’s story, though chances are that she will make a cameo appearance.
Control’s Multiplayer Spin-Off Features Survival Gameplay
With codename Condor, Remedy Entertainment plans on delivering a 4-player cooperative experience where survival will require improvisation. As the last remaining task force of the Federal Bureau of Control, players will face overwhelming enemies and obstacles, but by relying on their gear and each other, they will have a shot at survival. This suggests that character classes will be in play. For example, one player would play the role of supporting the team, and would carry relevant gear with which to heal, revive, and buff them. Another player may carry heavy artillery, and so on.
It will be interesting to see Remedy Entertainment’s take on the co-op survival game formula, especially with the paranormal activity going on in the Oldest House.
Previously, it was revealed by Remedy Entertainment CEO Virtala that the development of both Condor and Control 2 has picked up pace, thanks to the personnel that was freed up from work on Alan Wake 2. The company expect these upcoming projects to reach their next development stages during the first half of 2024.
