Square Enix has officially announced the schedule for a Dragon Quest presentation on May 27, increasing speculation about several rumored announcements related to the franchise.

The presentation, titled “Update from the DRAGON QUEST Team,” is set to premiere on YouTube at 6 AM PT. As spotted by Wario64, the scheduled livestream currently lists a runtime of 10 minutes, suggesting a shorter showcase focused on upcoming projects and updates.

The presentation arrives just days after fans discovered multiple unlisted videos added to the official Dragon Quest YouTube playlist. Earlier reports pointed to at least eight hidden uploads appearing through Square Enix’s Dragon Quest video archive, leading to widespread speculation ahead of Dragon Quest Day.

Based on existing rumors and known projects, fans believe one of the videos could be related to Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate, while another may involve a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dragon Quest XI. Some also expect new footage tied to the latest Dragon Quest X expansion.

Dragon Quest Day this year also comes ahead of the franchise’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2027. Since debuting in 1986, the series created by Yuji Horii, alongside late Dragon Ball artist Akira Toriyama and composer Koichi Sugiyama, has become one of the most influential Japanese RPG franchises in the industry.

Among the projects currently in development, Dragon Quest XII remains the most anticipated. Square Enix previously stated the title would introduce a darker tone, player-driven choices, and major adjustments to the traditional combat system. However, official updates on the game have remained limited since its original reveal.
