Fallout 3 remake and Fallout: New Vegas remake will not be out before 2027, while The Elder Scrolls VI release will happen during 2028-2029.

During the latest episode of The Xbox Two podcast, Xbox insider and co-host Jez Corden mentioned hearing that both the Fallout 3 remake and Fallout: New Vegas remake is further off than fans expect, and that The Elder Scrolls VI is still quite far from release. “I’ve heard that – I don’t know how true this is – but one thing I heard was that Fallout remasters are probably a little bit further off than people think, and that [The] Elder Scrolls VI is still quite far away,” he mentioned. “So I suppose getting some of those games out more quickly is probably top of mind for them.”

Corden further clarified that he expects one of the Fallout remakes to be released in 2027 and The Elder Scrolls VI seeing the light of day in 2028 or 2029. “Maybe 2027 for a Fallout remake, at least one of them, and then probably the year after that, or the year after that, for Elder Scrolls,” he said.

Back in March, during an episode of The Jeff Gerstmann Show, game journalist and host Jeff Gerstmann mentioned that an unannounced Fallout project that was once in development at another studio within Microsoft’s gaming division had apparently been canceled. He also suggested that rumored remake projects for classic entries, such as Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, may be handled by an external developer rather than Bethesda Game Studios itself. “They will probably not do the remakes,” he said. “I think those have been outsourced to other [studios]; like the Fallout 3 thing I think has been outsourced to an external studio.” During the same month, a product listing from McFarlane Toys for a figure was described as “ELITE EDITION 7IN – FALLOUT 3 REMASTERED – #13 T-45B NUKA COLA.”
