Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, bringing two of the franchise’s most celebrated RPGs to Nintendo’s latest platform.
The collection includes Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, allowing players to experience the complete story of Spira across both titles. In Final Fantasy X, players follow Tidus, a star blitzball player who joins the summoner Yuna on a journey to save the world from Sin, a destructive force that has plagued the land for generations.
Final Fantasy X-2 takes place two years after the events of the original game. Set during the period known as the Eternal Calm, the sequel follows Yuna as she becomes a Sphere Hunter and travels alongside Rikku and Paine in search of answers surrounding a mysterious image discovered within a sphere.
According to Square Enix, the package offers more than 100 hours of combined gameplay across the two adventures. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will feature the same HD enhancements introduced in previous releases, including upgraded character models, monsters, and environments with improved resolution.
The remaster also includes fully rearranged music, content from the International versions of both games, and several quality-of-life improvements. Among the additional features are high-speed mode and the option to disable random encounters, giving players more flexibility in how they experience the games.
Pre-orders for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster are available now through the Nintendo eShop ahead of the game’s July 23 release on Nintendo Switch 2.
