Here’s our first look at the set of A24, DNA Films, and Bandai Namco Filmworks’ upcoming Elden Ring movie.
Twitter/X user KingOfLeyndell and others have shared pictures of the Elden Ring movie being filmed on set in the United Kingdom, offering an early look at its production. The images give us a sneak peek at the live-action rendition of the Royal Capital City of Leyndell. One of the pictures also appears to reveal a possible first look at the character of Queen Marika the Eternal.

The Elden Ring film adaptation, directed by Alex Garland, is scheduled to release in theaters on March 3, 2028. The project brings together a notable ensemble cast as it adapts the world of FromSoftware’s widely acclaimed action role-playing game. The cast includes Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz. While specific character roles have not been disclosed, the lineup reflects a mix of established and emerging talent.
Originally released on February 25, 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, Elden Ring is set in the Lands Between and follows a Tarnished protagonist seeking to restore the shattered ring. The game is known for its interconnected world design, demanding combat, and narrative framework shaped in part by George R. R. Martin.
Details regarding the film’s story and how closely it will follow the source material have not been shared. The adaptation arrives several years after the game’s release, which has continued to expand its reach, including an upcoming port on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year in 2026.
