Forspoken May Get Delayed To 2023 If FF XVI Releases This Year
Forspoken might get pushed to 2023, according to the latest rumors. Though, apparently, this depends entirely on whether Final Fantasy XVI is ready for a 2022 release. According to XboxEra’s Spheshal_Nick, Square Enix may delay Fospoken again under the condition that they can release FF XVI instead. However, he did preface his statement by saying that it was a “nothing kind of rumor”.
Spheshal_Nick said that the current period is seeing a lot of delays, and Forspoken has already been delayed once. Based on his sources, Square Enix may delay Forspoken again, but it’s kind of conditional. Provided the publisher can get Final Fantasy XVI out of the door this year, Forspoken will be given more time in the oven.
His statement can be heard during the 110th episode of XboxEra Podcast (@1:47:00).
Spheshal_Nick also addressed the rumors regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake arriving on Xbox consoles. According to him, he hasn’t heard anything regarding a potential Xbox release, and he doesn’t see it arriving on Microsoft’s console. Sony may have signed a console exclusivity deal for FF VII Remake as well as its sequels.
Forspoken is a new action role-playing video game from Luminous Productions and Square Enix. It is set for release on Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 5 on October 11, 2022. The gameplay is centered on smooth and fast terrain traversal, according to director Takeshi Aramaki. It’s billed as a “narrative-driven adventure” that involves players traveling to any location at any time.
Frey, the protagonist, has a wide range of magical powers at her disposal, and she’ll get experience points after each battle engagement. Frey’s cloak may be improved to boost her battle effectiveness and attributes, and adding nail paint grants her unique skills. In order to regain health, the player can craft items or rest in a secure spot. A “breakstorm,” a scenario akin to horde mode in which waves of demonic monsters arise and assault Frey, may occur while the player is exploring the game area. The storm will come to a stop when a specified boss figure appears.
