One of the prominent titles to be leaving the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog in February is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition. It is available at retail as part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a 2021 compilation of three action-adventure games in the Grand Theft Auto series: Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002), and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004). It was developed by Grove Street Games and published by Rockstar Games.
Each of the three games has been given a visual facelift and improved gameplay. Within the same continuity, the games have various protagonists and settings. In Liberty City, Grand Theft Auto III’s silent protagonist Claude is followed; in Vice City, which takes place in 1986, Tommy Vercetti, an ex-mobster, is shown in the titular Vice City; and in San Andreas, which takes place in 1992, gangster Carl “CJ” Johnson is followed within the fictional state of San Andreas.
