Xbox has announced that it will showcase the multiplayer component of Gears of War: E-Day later this month.
The official Gears of War account confirmed on social media, “Tune in on July 30th at 6amPT | 9amET for the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Reveal.”
The announcement marks the first dedicated presentation focused on the game’s competitive multiplayer ahead of its release on October 6, 2026. Xbox has not revealed what will be shown during the broadcast, only confirming the date and start time for the event.
Developed by The Coalition in collaboration with People Can Fly and published by Xbox Game Studios, Gears of War: E-Day serves as a mainline prequel to the original Gears of War.
Set 14 years before the events of the first game, the story follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during Emergence Day, when the Locust Horde launches its devastating assault on humanity across the planet Sera. Players will fight through the fall of the city of Kalona in a campaign that supports both solo and cooperative play.
Alongside its story mode, the game will also feature competitive multiplayer, with more details expected during the July 30 reveal. Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC.
