Gears of War: E-Day has received a new weapon tuning update on November 6, 2026, introducing balance adjustments for three weapons in PvP. The patch reduces the overall effectiveness of the Striga and Lancer Mk1 (Retro), while the Gut-Puncher receives a reduction to its Active Reload damage multiplier. The Striga sees some of the biggest changes, with headshots now causing Down But Not Out (DBNO) instead of immediate death, alongside significant reductions to its gib and lethal damage ranges.
The Coalition has also adjusted the Retro Lancer’s damage falloff and reduced its Active Reload bonus. These changes follow player feedback, gameplay telemetry, and internal testing across the game’s unified Campaign, PvE, and PvP sandbox. Further adjustments are being considered, including changes to the Mantle kick, while weapon performance continues to be monitored across all modes.
